Start with the safe, not an assumed weight
Share the manufacturer, model and external dimensions, plus the stated weight if known. A photograph of the identification label can be useful. Tell us whether the safe is free-standing, fixed to a floor or wall, or set within fitted furniture.
Identify removable parts only where their removal is approved and assigned in the scope. Explain who will prepare any anchoring or fixings. A moving enquiry does not automatically include safe opening, lock work or security-system changes.
Driveways, thresholds and stairs
A straight route from room to truck is different from a garage reached down a sloping driveway. Provide the whole route, including thresholds, turns, ground changes and the point where the safe must transfer to or from the vehicle.
For stairs, include clear photographs of the flights and landings with approximate widths and available turning space. The crew and equipment must be selected together; knowing the safe’s weight alone does not confirm that a particular staircase is suitable.
Protect the property and agree the final position
Hard floors, door frames, garage surfaces and lift interiors may need protection during handling. Explain the surfaces along the route and any requirements set by the owner or building manager.
At delivery, identify the final position and who will arrange any re-fixing. Make sure the intended area is ready to receive the cabinet and that final placement is included in the quote. Transport to the property boundary is not the same scope as positioning inside.
A relevant JB safe-moving example
JB’s Sydney portfolio documents a one-tonne safe and a separate 400 kg safe moved from Dee Why to Palm Beach, with a steep driveway at the destination. The case study is useful because it shows that handling conditions can differ between two items in one project.
The example is Sydney work, not a completed Brisbane job. Use it to explain a comparable load or slope when requesting your Brisbane assessment, and point out any differences at your property.

JB can coordinate collection, lifting, loading, road transport, unloading and final placement. Discuss the full journey for safes, machinery, stone, commercial equipment or other heavy items, including any transfers between forklifts, gantries, skates, trolleys and the vehicle.
Prepare your safe removals enquiry
A complete brief helps JB identify the handling stages and prepare a project-specific scope.
- Safe make, model, dimensions and stated weight
- Whether it is anchored, fitted or ready to move
- Photos of the safe, thresholds, stairs and driveway
- Pickup and delivery suburbs and the final room
- Building access, vehicle position and preferred timing
Where information is unavailable, say so. The team can explain whether further measurements, photographs or an inspection are needed before the method and price are confirmed.
Start your project enquirySafe removals in Brisbane: your questions
Can you move a safe within the same Brisbane property?
Describe the current and proposed positions and every change in level between them. The handling and final placement still require assessment even if no road transport is needed.
Do I need to empty or disconnect the safe first?
Tell JB about the contents and any anchoring or connected security equipment. Preparation responsibilities should be confirmed with the relevant specialist before the move.
Can you quote without a confirmed safe weight?
Send the model, dimensions and label photographs. Further information may be needed before equipment, crew and pricing are confirmed.
