Supported movement and height transitions
A dolly supports suitable movement along an assessed route, while a lifting trolley or scissor table can help connect different working heights. The platform size, load distribution and transfer space matter as much as the item’s total weight. The equipment should support the load without relying on vulnerable surfaces.
Equipment within this category
Heavy-duty moving dollies
Supported movement through appropriate level routes.
Platform trolleys and hand trolleys
Transporting suitable items between collection, loading and placement points.
Scissor trolleys and hydraulic lift tables
Raising and lowering a supported load for suitable transfer stages.
Piano dollies and piano trolleys
Instrument handling with preparation, protection and restraint assessed.
Piano moving boards and support boards
Supporting suitable piano configurations as part of an agreed moving method.
Access details that shape the plan
Include the item’s base dimensions, shape and intended orientation. Show loading heights, thresholds, floor changes and the receiving position. For a piano, provide the instrument type and dimensions so the preparation, moving board, protection and supporting equipment can be assessed as one arrangement.
Connect the handling stages
Define how the item is collected, secured, transferred and placed. Piano boards, platform trolleys and hydraulic lift tables are selected for their particular stage; one device does not necessarily handle the whole journey. The truck, restraints and any unloading equipment should be confirmed alongside the internal movement.

Large Garden Statue: Protected Handling with Powered Equipment
A tall garden figure wrapped in padded blankets, secured with straps and supported on a powered moving platform. The project photographs show courtyard handling and an inclined ramp transfer at the JB removalist truck.

1-Tonne, 7.5-Metre Table Installation
An eight-person crew used four scissor lifts, pallet jacks and a HIAB crane truck to position a 7.5-metre, one-tonne table on two stands, then level it over an uneven floor.

- Item type, known weight and overall dimensions
- Photographs of the base, supports and vulnerable surfaces
- Pickup and delivery addresses, plus the complete access routes
- Preferred timing, loading windows and site contacts
- The final position and any preparation or technical responsibilities
If a weight or dimension is unknown, say so in your enquiry. JB can identify the information needed before confirming the crew, equipment, transport and price.
Request an equipment assessmentEquipment questions
Are scissor trolleys and scissor lifts interchangeable?
They are separate equipment categories. The platform, intended use, load and working conditions must suit the task. Tell JB about the required transfer rather than selecting a machine by name alone.
Can the equipment be included with transport?
Yes. Request a complete move and include both sites. The agreed quote identifies the lifting, loading, transport, unloading and placement stages.
Is this a live equipment stock list?
This guide explains equipment capabilities. The selected equipment, service arrangement and availability are confirmed for your enquiry.
